What fitness exercises are beneficial for playing Squash?

Question by : What fitness exercises are beneficial for playing Squash?
Currently I’m playing squash at a center that also has a fitness area. What fitness exercises are beneficial or could you recommend for playing Squash ? I’d be interested to know also what intensity or repetitions would be good.

In short, what muscles to train in what way ?
Note that I have been playing squash for over 10 years. I’m merely trying to work on specific physical elements of it and I’m wondering through what fitness exercises and methods would help me.

Apparently, it requires strength, endurance, flexibility, hand:eye coordination, developed fast twitch muscularity, arm strength, shoulder strength, proper form to avoid injury. As it is so complicated, I have selected some references for you included below. I would recommend that when you play, you are completely warmed up, wear goggles or eye protectors, and drink water. You can do the regular running, playing other sports, upper body weight training, and practice in your sport on a regular basis.

Water Exercises for seniors

Growing old isn’t that bad because you can still do a lot of things, just like water exercises. These exercises are good for your health especially if you’re having back pain and like. Water exercises can help you go healthy without causing too much difficulty because the water will help you move. Here are some water exercises for you to practice with your retirement water therapist:

 

Tone your arms with a ball and figure of 8. For this exercise, you’ll need a ball. Get into the area of a pool where the water reaches your shoulder. Stand with feet apart, then do some breathing exercises for a minute or two. Stretch your arms forward with the ball on your hand then start drawing the figure of 8 under the water. Make it as big as you can.

 

Marching under the water is another good exercise for you. It’s the same as marching on land but marching under the water will take more time before you get tired.

That’s because you can move with less effort when you are in the water. While marching, make sure you extend your arms and legs as far as you can.

 

Stretch your trunk with a side stretch. For this exercise, you’ll need to move to the side of the pool or somewhere there’s something you can hold on to. Make sure though that water is still up to your shoulders. Once you find your spot, pull your arms up as high as you can then try to reach sideward for the pool’s edge. Ask the water therapist from the retirement communities pa to support your back while you do this.

 

Water swings for your waist. For this exercise, you also need the poolside for support.

First, lay your back on the poolside with your arms stretched forward. Slowly pull your knees on your chest then stretch one leg to the right then back to the center. Do this too to your other leg. Don’t forget to do this with the water therapists of retirement communities pennsylvania for you to avoid possible injuries.
