In a Jim Henson comedy short from 1965, Scoop and Skip bring viewers behind the scenes at Muppets Inc. while they produce a commercial for Wilson’s Meats. Completely brilliant.

Hypothyroidism – An Underactive Thyroid

Article by Harry

As a Personal Trainer I have come across many clients who have suffered from hypothyroidism and as a result just dont seem to be able to control the weight they keep putting on. I have wrote this article to tell you a little bit about the condition and what you can do if you’re suffering from the condition. I hope you find it useful.

Hypothyroidism is when you have a reduced level of thyroxine. Having this reduced level of thyroxine can cause tiredness, weight gain, dry skin, aches and pains, lifeless hair, feeling cold and constipation.

The thyroxine hormone is made in the thyroid gland in the neck and is carried around in the blood stream. Thyroxine helps are bodys keep our metabolism working at its correct pace, as well as keeping many cells and tissues functioning correctly.

As the levels of thyroxine reduce further over months and years the symptoms named above can get worse and if untreated can cause.

Blame the meat industry for your man boobs

Article by Jeff Hamilton

The ScoopYou must be wondering where the hell did these man boobs really come from? I just want to shine light on some interesting facts. I hold a strong opinion that certain meats in the food industry can contribute to your man boobs. You can make your own call after reading this.Meat! Meat! Meat! Most of us in North America love our meat. A nice tasty steak on the grill seasoned to perfection will make your mouth water. Everywhere you turn there is a tasty burger, steak, taco; you name it and you can eat it. What most of us don’t realize is that a large portion of the meat industry uses hormones, in especially young livestock to increase the growth of animals in a short period of time. Guess what? You could be eating those same animals on a daily basis.Certain meats can kill your mojo!!Your man boobs can be caused by hormonal balances where more estrogen is being produced than testosterone. We as guys want the “mojo” not “nojo”

Solve for X: David Berry on efficient nutrition production

Solve for X is a forum to encourage and amplify technology-based moonshot thinking and teamwork. G+ The cow is, to put it mildly, not the most efficient mechanism to turn basic ingredients like CO2, water, and sunlight into calories and nutrition. Soy beans are better, but it is still an extremely inefficient process. What if we could skip many of the intermediate steps and directly convert the basic components of food into calories and nutrition. Such a solution would leap us forward by more than an order of magnitude in our ability to feed the world. David Berry is a Partner at Flagship Ventures and CEO of Essentient. David has MD & PhD degrees and has founded several life science and sustainability ventures.
