Bland diet is all I know, however, recent studies show that nearly all ulcers are caused by a bacterium. See a doctor because I know there is a relatively simple cure for your ulcer! Best to you! :-)=

Question by Nothing: What is important to stress to the client if they are starting antibiotic therapy?

Answer by TweetyBird
Why they need the antibiotic. What the name of the drug is. The dosage. How many times during a 24-hour period they will need to take it. How long they will need to take it. Whether they need to take it with food, on an empty stomach, with a full glass of water or is it’s unaffected by food. What results they can expect and when. Common side effects and what to do if they occur. Less common and life-threatening side effects and what to do these should these occur.

Some antibiotics make a person with certain infections noncontagious after having been on it for 24-48 hours. A group A Strep pyogenes throat infection is one example. If this applies, the patient should be made aware of it.

I stress far more than 4 things.

How common is Corneal ulcer among people who wear contacts?

Question by Lily: How common is Corneal ulcer among people who wear contacts?
I am 20 years old and I have been wearing glasses since High school and I hate them. I wanted to get contacts and I did a little research and I read quite a number people get corneal ulcers sometimes even if they follow the proper ways of wearing contacts (hygiene etc) and this freaked me out. So how common is corneal ulcer among people who wear contacts? Should I get contacts or is it too risky/ dangerous? I don’t want to damage my eyes for good but I hate glasses!

Answer by Adam
If you take care of them properly, the odds are fairly low — probably something like 1/500, 1/1000ish. The problem is a lot of people either don’t clean them properly, don’t replace them often enough, or continue wearing them even when they start to become bothersome, which increases the risks of all contact lens-related problems, not just ulcers.
