What fitness exercises are beneficial for playing Squash?

Question by : What fitness exercises are beneficial for playing Squash?
Currently I’m playing squash at a center that also has a fitness area. What fitness exercises are beneficial or could you recommend for playing Squash ? I’d be interested to know also what intensity or repetitions would be good.

In short, what muscles to train in what way ?
Note that I have been playing squash for over 10 years. I’m merely trying to work on specific physical elements of it and I’m wondering through what fitness exercises and methods would help me.

Apparently, it requires strength, endurance, flexibility, hand:eye coordination, developed fast twitch muscularity, arm strength, shoulder strength, proper form to avoid injury. As it is so complicated, I have selected some references for you included below. I would recommend that when you play, you are completely warmed up, wear goggles or eye protectors, and drink water. You can do the regular running, playing other sports, upper body weight training, and practice in your sport on a regular basis.

With padding and stuff. I have a swimming costume, and when i try to put padding in it looks so obvious. So what good, simple swimming costumes are there that allow you to stuff them without it being noticable?

Don’t stuff a swimsuit, it’s just tacky to do that. If you really want to make yourself look bigger, try getting a push-up or underwire swimsuit from Victoria’s Secret.

How much exercise is needed for the average Border Collie?

I have two border collies and their exercise needs are very different! They both came from the same litter (I raised both as puppies) but one is a boy and the other is a girl. So far they are both 3 years old. The boy needs only around 30 minutes of exercise a day to be happy and calm while the girl can run for days on end before she gets tired! What’s the normal amount of exercise needed for the average border collie?

For the normal/average Border Collie that I am used to being around its 23 out of 24 hours a day.

Every BC I know is a herding/agility/obedience dog and even with all that work the dogs still could go for more. My herding instructors BC works 8+ hours a day and she never tires out.

Your male is definitely not the norm.

How long does exercise lift your mood for?

People talk about exercise and endorphins and feeling good blah blah. My question is: How long does this boost in mood caused by exercise last? Does it last the whole day? Or is it only temporary, for a few minutes while you exercise, and then gone? If the latter, then I won’t bother with the whole exercise thing.

For me, it lasts as long as I’m working out. During my cross country season, I’m at my happiest mood for the whole 5 months. I just got done working out an hour ago and i still feel pretty good. Exercise is the best medicine. No, it doesn’t last for a few minutes, it lasts the whole day and if you exercise tomorrow and the day after that, it’ll last for as long as you keep working out.
